Overview

Broadcast a message directly to members of your awards management team and to Entrants and Judges across single or multiple awards programs.

  • Banner messages are displayed at the top of the viewport above the main Acclaim application canvas.
  • The target audience for your message is defined by User Role.
  • Messages are visible when a User with your targeted role is logged in during the Display Period you specify.

Banner messages are targeted at groups of Users defined by the User Roles they have been assigned.

Some banner messages can also be targeted at Entrants and Judges.

  • Entrants are defined as any person making an Entry - whether their entries are in Draft or Submitted or Disqualified.
  • Judges are defined as any person that has assignments on a Team or in a Session that is open for scoring. These are active Judges.

The following information is required when creating a Banner message.

  • Target Audience
  • Display Period Dates/Times
  • Banner Message
  • Scope

There are three (2) types of Banner Messages

  1. Awards Program Group
  2. Awards Program

Awards Program Group Banner Messages

Messages you author that target User Role groups in ALL awards programs in your program group.

  • You must have a Program Group admin role to be able to author these types of messages.
  • Not all Acclaim customers operate Program Groups.

Awards Program Banner Messages

Messages you author that are targeted at User Role groups within a specific awards program.

  • You must have Entry management or Judging management roles to be able to target Entrants or Judges.
  • The awards program targeted is the program you are logged into when authoring message.

Additional Information

Display Period Dates/Times

This is the Date/Time range that your message will be visible for. You can edit this information at any time (example: you want to extend the period of time a message will display for).

The Time Zone for the display period differs depending on the type of message:

  • Program Group wide message: your dates and times are in UTC.
  • Awards Program specific message: your dates and times are in the time zone the awards program is setup with.

Persistence

Members of your Target Audience can close / dismiss the Banner Messages that are visible to them.

The persistence options allow you to define if the User will see the message they have dismissed the next time they log in or not.
